I’m using ClickUp and want to create cumulative flow diagrams (CFDs) for better insight into our workflow health. What’s the best way to visualize CFD trends directly in ClickUp Dashboards? Any hacks or templates that work well?

ClickUp enables showing Agile data, although Cumulative Flow Diagrams take some setup. With the appropriate dashboard widgets and layout, you can create interesting CFD-style charts.

  • Tag tasks by state – Use consistent statuses like “To Do,” “In Progress,” “Review,” and “Done”

  • Use Workload View or Line Chart widget – Show task volume over time by status in a customizable chart

  • Use Custom Fields for depth – Track cycle time or labels like “Blocked” for deeper flow analysis

  • Create filtered dashboards – Focus on certain sprints, teams, or task types for refined insights

  • Set time intervals for tracking – Use daily or weekly groupings to monitor WIP evolution

  • Use Docs to explain dashboard data – Add contextual comments about trends or spikes in WIP

By correctly stacking ClickUp widgets and filters, you can get a lightweight but informative CFD view for Agile throughput and flow management.
